Unlimited Potential Unlocked!
I was playing with the blues quartet the other day, and the set shifted from delta blues to an uptempo funk number that called for a much tighter snare sound (a la Ants Marching by DMB). The fact I could make that shift within seconds and further fine tune mid song was an absolute game changer!
Then to go from that tight funk crispiness to then drop it to the ultimate worship snare drum sound for the next gig was so easy!
Fellow musicians, it's not uncommon to have several dozen variables when dialing in your snare sound: from individual lug tension, to overall head tension, to snare wire tension, to head selection, and the list goes on. Dialtune has eliminated all but just a small handful of those variables. So it's so easy to isolate and fine tune. When I got my snare tuned low, and I typically like the snare side about a fifth higher than the batter, I was able to tell it only took a micro turn of the snare wires to achieve chef's kiss sound. To that end, this is the perfect drum to use as a learning tool to learn how the heads and snare wires interact.
I haven't even gotten to play with different heads because the heads that came on it are dope! Hats off to Dialtune for putting Evans on instead of Remos, like every other company out there.
The only things to keep in mind: it's about as heavy as my b20 bronze alloy snare; it's bulky so it takes a little finesse to get it to sit on a snare stand securely; and standard mic clips for an SM57 don't fit on the hoops, so you gotta get a little creative for mic placement.
I cannot wait until my full kit arrives in 2026!

Most versatile Snare Ever Made
so I have played on soo many snare drums from Mapex to DW
and I have found that its difficult to get the right tuning in a short period of time
after receiving my Dialtune Snare drum out of the box I have noticed how solid it is it weight about 12Kgs but that cause of all the Hardware and makes sense as the hardware that's used is super durable and high quality
once i tuned it up in a few seconds yes seconds
the quality of tone was amazing it doesn't matter low, medium, high or ultra high tuning its plays and sounds like a dream
this is still with stock heads on them
i have tried the Aquarian high velocity black snare head and it sounded a bit darker perfect for the rock and metal guys
but then i tried the Evans UV1 and OH My Days the snare opened up soo well i could not believe how versatile my snare was
i highly recommend this Snare Drum you can not go wrong with it
i wish i had another snare to use as my Aux Snare but wow wow wow so amazing
one more thing i have tuned this head super high and the Rope doest fail it just shows every single part of the snare has gone through a proper thought process for us as drummers to have a product that will never fail
now get your snare don't delay
also get the kit as well

Among the best
My first Dialtune snare is easy to tune and offers great versatility. Most importantly it was a tonal quality which impressed my professional teacher. We were both amazed as to the depth and breadth of sound. As a collector a must, or if you are looking for a great range in the studio or live.

Lots of Fun
This drum is fun to play and experiment with. I know some think it is a gimmick, but you start messing with tunings and tensions you probably wouldn't do otherwise. You can easily experiment in ways that you could transfer to more "traditional" drums.
