What happens when two of the most respected drummers in the world sit down behind a Dialtune snare? You get a moment that speaks for itself. In this special Dialtune Sessions video, Terry Baker (Kirk Franklin) welcomes Josh Foster (Mariah Carey) to the stage. What starts as a casual jam between friends turns into a masterclass in versatility, tone, and innovation—with the Dialtune snare front and center.

“I love the variety of sounds you can get out of one drum,” says Foster. “Using the dial to change pitch quickly—on the fly—you can play multiple songs and cover a whole palette of tones. For me, this is a game-changer.”

Foster describes how, straight out of the box, the snare was ready to go. No tweaks, no tricks—just great tone and intuitive control.
“The first thing I did was tune the bottom head using the dial. Once I locked that in, I didn’t touch it again. It was exactly what I needed—from gospel to R&B to pop. Just throw a mic on it and go.”
This session highlights something we hear from drummers all the time:
You don’t need multiple snares to cover multiple sounds. You just need the right one.
“You can't do this with other drums,” Foster continues. “Getting two distinct tunings, instantly switchable? And both pitches sound warm and full. I’d take these everywhere.”
Terry Baker closes it out with a grin:
“He just did things with these two snares I’ve never seen before. I can’t wait for y’all to see it.”
Watch the full performance, hear the tone for yourself, and see why these world-class drummers are all in on Dialtune.
