You've invested in a drum set built differently. It makes sense to protect it the same way.

When it comes to buying hard cases for your Dialtune kit, there's one important thing to know upfront: standard diameter cases won't cut it. Because of our oversized hoops, tuning dials, and the tom mount hardware on the rack toms and floor leg mounts on the floor tom, your drums simply won't seat properly in traditional cases sized to match the drum diameter alone. A standard 10", 12", or 16" case will be too tight once you account for everything that makes a Dialtune drum a Dialtune drum.

We did the trial and error so you don't have to.

The Cases That Fit

After testing a range of options, we love the SKB hard cases as a solid industry-standard choice that fits our drums well. That said, any hard or soft case with similar dimensions should work. Here's the exact sizing of case that fits our drums:

Your drum  Case to buy SKB Model
8x10" rack tom 8x12" tom case SKBD812
9x12" rack tom 9x13" tom case SKBD0913
14x16" floor tom 16x18" floor tom case SKBD1618
16x22" bass drum 16x22" bass drum case SKBD1622

The pattern is consistent: size up slightly on the depth dimension, and you'll have the clearance you need for the hardware without the drums rattling around inside.

Why This Matters

A drum kit that travels is a drum kit that gets used. Whether you're loading in for a session, moving between venues, or just protecting your investment between rehearsals, proper cases are non-negotiable. These aren't drums you want sitting in a soft bag on a cold garage floor.

A Note on Other Case Brands

SKB is our tested recommendation, but the sizing guidance above should translate to other reputable hard case manufacturers as well. The key is the same regardless of brand: don't match the case to your drum's nominal diameter. Size up to account for the hardware. When in doubt, reference the dimensions above and measure before you buy.

Your Dialtune kit was built to go places. Make sure your cases are ready for the same.
