Dialtune Next: Legacy & Mentorship
Why we built a mentorship model into the Dialtune Artist Program
I’m Alexander Marshman, co-founder of Dialtune. When we set out to build this company, we weren’t chasing trends—we were entrusted with an idea. One we promised to steward with humility, care, and a long view of the craft. That’s where Dialtune Next comes in.
We want to be a legacy, generational business—and in order to be part of Dialtune Next, you’ve got to be mentored by one of our pros. We want players who can stand the test of time in the industry.
Dialtune Next is a mentorship track within our Artist Program. It connects emerging players to seasoned pros who’ve walked the road before them. In this case, the lineage is powerful: Terry Baker mentored Q. Q is now mentoring Kristopher Whitehurst. That matters deeply to us. Because legacy isn’t something you inherit—it’s something you pass on.
From the first time we met, I knew it was something different about you... it's not just your playing—it's your humility and your search for knowledge. —Q
Kristopher is getting ready to head out on his first major tour. He’s putting the Dialtune kit to work in the real world—on stage, in rooms, under pressure. That’s where gear earns its place. That’s where mentorship matters.
It was a game changer... three songs with no dampening, no tape, no tweaks. Just tone, right out of the bag. —Kristopher
Dialtune Next isn't just about new talent—it's about continuity. Each artist brings their own voice, but the system stays transparent. The tuning fades into the background, letting the drummer shine. As Q said: five different players, one snare, five totally different sounds. That’s the goal. Gear that serves the player—not the other way around.
This is just the beginning of Dialtune Next. We’ll grow it slowly, with the right people, in the right way. Because our Artist Program isn’t about clout. It’s about character. It’s about giving back what was given to us.
You can follow Kristopher Whitehurst on Instagram at @kwhitehurst_ or support his work through his referral link here.
Character over clout. That’s the heart of the Dialtune Artist Program. We build with players who care about the craft, give honest feedback, and make drums matter.
If this artist’s voice resonates with you, use their code: KRISW334.
Artist codes always get you the best price on Dialtune—and your support goes straight to the drummer. Their sessions. Their shows. Their sound.
We build drums. YOU make them matter.
